The Spring Equinox, which falls between March 20 and march 22 marks the end of winter and the beginning of spring. Many neo-pagan religions celebrate the lesser Sabbat of Ostara at the equinox. At Ostara, Eostre, a Germanic goddess is said to lay with the Sun God at the Spring Equinox a child, who would be born into the world 9 months later at Yule - the new Sun King.
